I’m a handlettering artist, typeface designer & illustrator based in Germany.
In the early 2014’s I took first steps in graphic design and started making everything from logos to social media graphics for clients all over the world.
Creating graphics I got obsessed with typography (and mainly handlettered brush types). I loved how it would make things look more personal and interesting. So out of curiousity I started teaching myself calligraphy and how to make my own fonts.
Soon I realized that I don’t want to do anything else for the rest of my life (at least that’s what I’m thinking now) than working with a brush, ink and an awesome iPad Pro (and lots of coffee).
Where do I find inspiration?
I find inspiration everywhere around me. I often take photos of things that have a certain look or give me a feeling that inspires me for my work. I absolutely love pinterest because it makes collecting your ideas so easy! I could spent days just browsing through it.
Why do I love handlettering?
First of all, it’s extremely relaxing. I think it kind of became my therapy. I usually start my day with a brush & ink and just write down words or quotes that I like. That’s also a great way to reflect on your goals and dreams. I also feel like handlettering became so trendy because it brings personality into our digital world. Having something handwritten, for example on a poster, can make it look way more interesing & natural then a “normal” font.
